Join us for April’s Thrive Cooking Class, Recipes to Reduce Food Waste, and learn how to cook less wastefully in honor of Earth Day! Together we’ll discover how scraps have the potential to inspire new recipes.

The menu:

  • Spicy Green Herb Soup
  • Stem and Core Fried Rice
  • Roasted Tomato Panzanetta with Chickpeas and Pickled Red Onions
  • Plant-Based Pancakes with Mixed Berry Compote
  • Berry-infused Water

Thrive Kitchen classes are taught the second Wednesday of every month by Kaiser Permanente Physician and Chef Linda Shiue, MD. Every class features healthy, globally inspired seasonal cuisine, hands-on preparation skills, and nutrition tips. After the cooking lesson, students sit down to a meal they’ve prepared themselves.

The Thrive Kitchen is located at Kaiser Permanente Mission Bay. Pre-registration is required; the fee is $30 for Kaiser Permanente members and $40 for non-members, and includes your meal.
