Little Red Hen Community Gargen, San Francisco, California

A collaborative effort by the Friends of Glen Canyon Park and the San Francisco Police Academy, The Little Red Hen Community Garden is now a successful community garden with eager residents signing up for vegetable beds. Coordinators Rich Craib and William Murray have created a green oasis from a neglected street corner.   Kaiser Permanente stepped in with a sponsorship that provided new garden bed materials and plants and organized a garden day, which included garden coordinators, area residents, Kaiser Permanente representatives and volunteers, and local elected officials.
